The Rock n Roll Classics. OMLOOP VAN VLAANDEREN REGULARITY gets a sequel! On 1 & 2 September, the tenors of regularity rallies can compete with each other on 100% closed regularity stages -which, by the way, are 100% asphalted-, in the wake of the fastest rally drivers from the Kroon-Oil Belgian Rally Championship during Belgium's oldest rally!
Draft
The Rock n Roll Classics. OMLOOP VAN VLAANDEREN REGULARITY is not just another regularity rally. All regularity trials are closed to other traffic, allowing average speeds of up to 65 km/h. Regularity driving with extra sporting challenges for the driver while safety is more than guaranteed! Those who prefer to take it a little easier in terms of steering can enter a second category this year, with an average speed of up to 50 km/h. A category of regularity driving in its purest form. Both categories have one thing in common: all regularity tests are 100% closed to other traffic and you will be immersed in the rally atmosphere of the A&D Omloop van Vlaanderen. The regularity participants will also get the attention they deserve, a separate car park in the middle of the service park where the modern rally cars roar and a catering area reserved for the regularity participants with a view of the competition centre of the speed rally! A unique experience!
Virtual stamp checks
Those who took part last year will agree that some of the technical sections made keeping up the average speed extra challenging. This year, we are once again presenting a muscular course, although almost every regularity test has undergone the necessary changes and we are presenting an unpublished test! So those who already sampled the concept last year will be presented with new challenges this year! In addition, we will introduce the 'virtual stamp controls' during the regularity tests. At such virtual stamp controls -controlled by the tracking system- the participant will have to stop for at least 7 seconds before continuing on track. The rhythm will be interrupted several times during the regularity trials, which will make maintaining the average speed extra challenging!
The essence of regularity riding is guaranteed!
Our sports directors Bjorn & Jens Vanoverschelde thoroughly analysed last year's first edition. "We want to put extra emphasis on the essence of regularity driving and the navigator's part this year and find the perfect balance between 'sports driving' and 'regularity driving'. At some regularity stages, the average speed of the regularity stage will be announced only 15 seconds before the starting gun in the form of an old-fashioned time table. Programmable trip masters will become more unnecessary than ever during these trials and the essence of regularity driving will remain guaranteed!" We reiterate that exploring the regularity trials is not allowed. "That too is a conscious decision. Regularity riding is synonymous with discovering a secret course and the challenges associated with it. On top of that, exploring the course requires extra budget and especially extra time from the participants, which we want to avoid. To maintain safety, the imposed average speeds will be adapted to the difficulty and complexity of the course. To further emphasise the secret course, the roadbook will be handed out only 30 minutes before the start of each stage and participants will only discover the exact location of the virtual stamp controls last minute. We want to keep the spirit of regularity driving, but supplemented with an extra sporty touch thanks to the closed regularity tests and sportier average speeds."
Additional experience
To guarantee social contact during the event, the Regularity Café will be put in the spotlight this year, where participants will meet each other several times. Just like last year, the Regularity Café will be located right in the middle of the motorsport hubbub (and with a view on the circuit test 'De Zoning'!), and this year participants will also be able to go there for the administrative check and to collect their road book. On Saturday afternoon and Saturday evening, it will also be the meeting place to fortify the inner man, included in the registration fee.
You read it right. Over the past period, AMV Events and our sports managers have not been idle to thoroughly evolve the regularity category!

NEW - Roll cage required in REGULARITY65 category
To increase safety in the REGULARITY65 category, the Belgian Motorsport Federation RACB has imposed an obligation in the use of a 'roll cage' in the vehicle since January 2023.
> A 6-point roll cage is mandatory for all vehicles from 01/01/1962 onwards
> For vehicles up to and including 31/12/1961, a roll cage is strongly advised and only mandatory if the vehicle was fitted with one when manufactured
Wearing seatbelts and helmet during regularity trials is mandatory. There are no specific standards on seatbelts and helmet.
